Human Rights Custom Index on MSCI ACWI

This custom index aims to exclude companies which are implicated in certain serious human rights violations, including actions that result in widespread death, torture, rape, slavery, forced labor, human trafficking and the forced displacement of communities. |
In addition, the index excludes companies that have substantial strategic engagements with repressive regimes demonstrating poor human rights records - such as Sudan, Iran and Burma. Human rights violations may involve company employees, local military and security personnel, private military or civilian contractors.
The Human Rights Custom Index on MSCI ACWI is reviewed on a quarterly basis coinciding with the regular Index Reviews of the MSCI Global Investable Market Indices. Changes are effective at the open of the first business day of March, June, September and December, unless specified otherwise by MSCI. The list of companies to be excluded are screened based on MSCI ESG Research data as of the end of January, April, July and October, respectively.
