MSCI ESG Ex Controversial Weapons
![]() |
The MSCI Global ex Controversial Weapons Indices have been developed for use by investors - including pension funds and universal owners - who wish to avoid investments in cluster bombs, landmines, depleted uranium, and chemical and biological weapons. |
MSCI constructs MSCI Global ex Controversial Weapons Indices by excluding index constituents that are involved in controversial weapons from the MSCI ACWI, which is made up of large and mid cap companies in developed and emerging markets. The indices are free float-adjusted market capitalization weighted. The indices are maintained following the standard methodology for MSCI ACWI.
The MSCI Global ex Controversial Weapons Indices are reviewed on a quarterly basis coinciding with the regular Index Reviews of the MSCI Global Investable Market Indices. Changes are effective at the open of the first business day of March, June, September and December unless otherwise specified by MSCI.
