Climate Workshop Series: Accelerating the transition to a net-zero economy

MSCI will be facilitating conversations with financial institutions on how the industry can take the next practical steps in the urgent transition to net-zero.

We’ll be hosting a series of in-person events across Europe focusing on two key Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) workstreams that were developed following COP26:

  • Financial Institution Net-zero Transition Plans – translating net-zero commitments into a coherent strategy with specific objectives aimed at reducing real-economy GHG emissions against which progress can be assessed.
  • Portfolio Alignment Measurement – Financial institutions and climate data providers need to work together to address barriers to implementation and using portfolio alignment metrics; we will discuss emerging best practices in methodologies to help drive standards and lessons learned through extensive industry engagement activities.

Our research team and consultants will share insights and innovative approaches to begin to tackle these workstreams. We’ll then explore a case study on building a net-zero aligned portfolio from both a portfolio construction and risk management perspective.
