MSCI Governance Week Seminar: The Role of Stewardship and Engagement for Planet, Profit, Purpose
In January 2017, a group of more than 60 US institutional investors with more than $31 trillion assets under management joined forces to form the Investor Stewardship Group (ISG), with the goal of establishing a framework for stewardship and corporate governance standards in the US.* The Investor Stewardship Group’s framework follows on the establishment of stewardship codes in countries including the UK, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Italy and others. As investors increasingly view engagement AS a way to add value, the focus may be expanding from the practice of identifying corporate governance leaders and laggards to include targeted and MORE comprehensive engagement and stewardship practices. In this session, we will be joined by founding members of the ISG for a discussion of engagement goals, best practices, and challenges for both issuers and investors.
Please join us for wine and canapes immediately following the discussion.
