MSCI x Women in ETFs Webinar: The Path to 30% - how close are we to closing the gender gap?

Gender equality is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the advancement of women in the workplace and society has become an increasing focus of impact investors.

Although representation of women in the boardroom has seen only modest gains, the number of women leaders grows every year. But is pace enough for companies to reach either 30% women directors, or full gender parity at 50% women directors? Where are we in terms of progress, and what more can we do to accelerate the change?

MSCI, in partnership with Women in ETFs, hosted a webinar to look at the key findings of the 2021 Women on Boards report, and the possible scenarios of when we will reach the 30% and 50% marks.

Our panel examined the drivers and challenges to advance women leaders to the top and take a closer look at what needs to be done to accelerate the pace, especially within the financial industry.
