Bio - Jay McNamara

 

Jay is responsible for the business, product and commercial strategy of Private Capital Solutions. He is also a member of MSCI’s Executive Committee.

Jay first joined MSCI in 2002, and most recently served as President of Burgiss, a leading data and analytics provider for investors in private assets. He oversaw the firm from when MSCI took a minority position in 2020 to when the company was acquired by MSCI in 2023. Under his leadership, Burgiss grew to serve over 1,000 clients in 40 countries with over 650 employees.

Prior to Burgiss, Jay was Head of Real Estate at MSCI, responsible for all aspects of product management and business strategy. He also previously served as MSCI’s Head of Americas Client Coverage and Global Head of Asset Owners and Investment Consultant Coverage.

Jay joined MSCI from Brown Brothers Harriman where he held a series of sales and relationship management roles in Boston, Hong Kong and New York.

Jay received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from the College of the Holy Cross. Previously he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Explore Schools, a network of high-performing public charter schools in Central Brooklyn.
