How is the MSCI USA 50 Index constructed?
The selection universe for this Index is the MSCI USA Investable Market Index (IMI) , which covers approximately 99% of the US equity market2, comprising more than 2,600 large, mid and small cap companies.
The constituents of the MSCI USA IMI Index are ranked in descending order of their free float-adjusted market capitalization. The 50 largest of these securities are selected to construct the MSCI USA 50. The resulting index constituents are weighted according to their free float-adjusted market capitalizations.
The MSCI USA 50 is fully reviewed on a quarterly basis with the objective of reflecting change in the underlying equity markets in a timely manner, while limiting undue index turnover.
