Our Approach
We establish policies, practices, and governance structures that reflect MSCI’s commitment to ethical leadership, strong governance, and shared values. Our leadership sets a clear and authentic tone from the top, reinforcing our corporate values across the organization and supporting responsible innovation and sustainable business growth. This includes establishing, monitoring, and managing science-based climate targets.
We create a culture of transparency, accountability, and performance with integrity across all levels of the organization, supported by strong governance structures and policies. Through clear communication and decision-useful reporting, we provide stakeholders with insight into our progress toward commitments, as well as how we manage relevant risks and opportunities.
Corporate Responsibility Governance
MSCI integrates Corporate Responsibility considerations into its business strategy to support long-term value creation, reflecting our belief that sustainable practices are essential to long-term growth. In line with this focus, the Governance Committee of our Board oversees MSCI’s Corporate Responsibility strategy and initiatives, receiving regular updates from management. Our Corporate Responsibility efforts are led by our Chief Responsibility Officer and day-to-day implementation of our Corporate Responsibility initiatives is enabled by key functions across MSCI. These functions are represented on our Corporate Responsibility Committee, which reviews our Corporate Responsibility activities and key reports, and monitors industry trends.
At the senior management level, our Corporate Responsibility Advisory Council consists of several senior MSCI executives leading key functions that underpin our Corporate Responsibility strategy. This body provides input on significant Corporate Responsibility policies, actions and disclosures to ensure these items are aligned with MSCI’s mission and long-term strategy for sustainable growth.
