MSCI Deep Dive: Free Float Adjustment Factor Methodology Change
This MSCI event discusses updates to its rules-based free float adjustment factor methodology. Under this methodology update, the Foreign Inclusion Factor (FIF) calculations for certain index constituents may change.
The update is expected to be implemented in a single step as part of the May 2026 Index Review, with announcement on May 12, 2026 and rebalance effective on June 1, 2026.
