MSCI in Practice: Carbon Markets 101 - Forecasting in Carbon Markets in APAC

About this event

Carbon credit trading is playing an increasingly pivotal role in transition finance. A confluence of policy and market developments — such as the establishment of global standards under Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement and growing use of carbon instruments in compliance regimes — is elevating the role of carbon credit as an important financial asset aligned with transition goals. Reflecting this momentum, MSCI Research estimates that, if current corporate and government commitments are met, the global carbon credit market could expand from USD 1.4 billion to as much as USD 35 billion by 20301.

In this webinar, MSCI experts explored how forecasting can support better decision-making by improving visibility into supply-demand dynamics and pricing risks across APAC markets. MSCI was joined by GenZero’s Director at the Strategy & Development Group, Anshari Rahman, who shared insights into how investment strategies, policy, and regulatory frameworks intersect to scale impact and accelerate global decarbonization.
