About this event

The Total Portfolio Approach (TPA) is gaining traction among asset owners as they navigate complex macroeconomic environments, increasing portfolio complexity, growing private market allocations and the need for more integrated risk frameworks.

Traditional asset allocation approaches, while effective, can result in fragmented decision-making across asset classes. As a result, many institutions are evolving toward a Total Portfolio Approach, where investment decisions are made in the context of the entire portfolio across both public and private assets.

To support this shift, MSCI is launching a two-part webinar series dedicated to the Total Portfolio Approach.

Join us on May 13 for the first session in this series titled: Total Portfolio Approach: From Portfolio Design to Implementation, where MSCI experts will examine how asset owners are rethinking portfolio design, governance and risk management, and what this transition means in practice.

In this session, we will cover:

  • The key drivers behind the adoption of the Total Portfolio Approach
  • How asset owners are evolving from strategic asset allocation toward total portfolio decision-making
  • The role of governance, including reference portfolios and risk ownership
  • The Design, build and safeguard framework across portfolio strategy, implementation and oversight
  • Key challenges institutions face when integrating public and private assets and aligning strategy with execution

In the second part of this series, we will focus on how these concepts are applied in practice through real-world use cases and portfolio decisions. You can register here for the second session, scheduled for May 20.
