As chief data officer and global head of operations, Dinesh Gupta is responsible for MSCI’s enterprise data strategy and global data operations, helping to ensure the accuracy, integrity and resilience of the data that underpins the firm’s products and services.

Dinesh and his team are responsible for advancing AI-driven data automation, data governance and enhancing data operational excellence across the company. He is a member of MSCI’s Management Committee.

Dinesh brings nearly three decades of experience building and scaling data and technology platforms within complex global organizations. Prior to joining MSCI, he was a partner at Goldman Sachs, where he held senior investment management, consumer, asset management and private wealth management leadership technology roles.

Most notably, Dinesh led the organization responsible for building AI platforms and machine-learning capabilities across a broad range of business applications, while driving AI adoption at scale across the firm.

He also led firmwide digitization initiatives to modernize infrastructure and improve data transparency and efficiency. In addition, Dinesh was a member of the Firmwide Technology Risk Committee and supported inclusion efforts as a co-sponsor and former co-head of the Engineering Asian Network.

Dinesh holds a Bachelor of Technology from Birla Institute of Technology in India.
