The MSCI EM Low Carbon Leaders ex Equity REITs ex Mortgage REITs 10/50 Index is designed to measure two dimensions of carbon exposure – carbon emissions and fossil fuel reserves. By including companies with low carbon emissions relative to sales and those with low potential carbon emissions per dollar of market capitalization, the index aims to reflect a lower carbon exposure than that of the parent index. It also applies a 10/50 capping methodology to ensure diversification.
