THE MSCI SAUDI ARABIA INDEXES
On June 1, 2015 Saudi Arabia opened its $500+ billion stock market to direct foreign investors through a Qualified Foreign Investor (QFI) scheme, providing international investors with direct access to the Middle East’s biggest economy. To address the needs of international investors for meaningful benchmarks for Saudi Arabia and its regional peers, we have launched the MSCI Saudi Arabia Indexes, which represent the performance of Saudi Arabia’s investment opportunity set, and the MSCI GCC Countries International Indexes, which represent the performance of the Gulf region countries' investment opportunity set.
MEANINGFUL BENCHMARKS
The MSCI Saudi Arabia Indexes are standalone market indexes that follow MSCI’s consistent and internationally recognized methodology, using our Emerging Markets size and liquidity requirements.
- MSCI Saudi Arabia Index: Aims to represent the performance of large- and mid-cap stocks, representing 85% of Saudi Arabia’s investment opportunity set.
- MSCI Saudi Arabia IMI Index: Aims to represent the performance of large-, mid- and small-cap stocks, representing 99% of Saudi Arabia’s investment opportunity set.
