​​​Jana Haines​​

As Head of Index, Jana Haines is responsible for the strategic development and execution of MSCI’s Index product line, and partners with leaders across the firm to manage the Index product development process, instill best practices, and drive innovation across index categories, including market cap, sustainability, climate, factors, thematics and asset classes, such as fixed income and private assets.

She focuses on building a deeper understanding of client needs and integrating their preferences into the company’s solutions to deliver greater value to clients and shareholders. She is also a member of the Executive Committee.

Jana held a variety of senior leadership roles at MSCI from 2006 to 2021, including the Head of Index Product for Americas and EMEA, and Global Head of Fixed Income Indexes, and held various roles within MSCI’s Client Coverage team.

She also was the Chief Strategy Officer of ARK Investments, where she played an instrumental role in ARK’s transition to a scalable business and global partnership expansion. Previously, Jana served in a variety of financial market positions at HypoVereinsbank and Richie Capital. She also co-founded the Private Equity Group in Prague.

Jana holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
