ESG: Part of the Problem or Part of the Solution for Asset Owners?

In this presentation we will discuss the value of integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into the investment process. This discussion will explore the macro trends and risk factors that ESG research and ratings seeks to illuminate.  We examine how these trends and risk factors may manifest themselves in the market place and review future potential risks and opportunities.  We will also highlight asset owner views and beliefs in relation to ESG.

Assets under management by PRI signatories now stands at more than $32 trillion (or 15% of the world’s investable assets according to PRI), up from $4 trillion at the PRI’s launch in 2006 according to the UN's Principles for Responsible Investment.  This growth is being driven by an interest from stakeholders and the need for asset managers to respond to them.  But in an era of low growth when pension funds need to do all they can to meet obligations and maintain net positive returns from investment capital, is there value in adding agenda items around ESG?  Is this a benefit or a distraction?

MSCI ESG Research cordially invites you to a webinar where we will discuss and review the key aspects of ESG integration for Asset Owners.

The session is hosted by Martina Macpherson, Vice President, MSCI ESG Research.

Speakers include:

  • Marc Brammer, Vice President, MSCI ESG Research
  • Roger Urwin, Global Head of Investment Content, Towers Watson
