MSCI In Practice: US Racial & Ethnic Diversity Data Set

Over the past two years we have seen the issue of racial injustice come into sharp focus in the United States and around the world, highlighted by the Black Lives Matter movement. As a result, we have seen growing interest from institutional investors in data on companies’ racial and ethnic diversity practices.  
 
The US Racial and Ethnic Data Set from MSCI provides information on companies’ disclosure practices and policies with regards to racial and ethnic diversity. The coverage universe is the USA IMI index, i.e. approximately 2360 companies.
