Real Estate Set to Face Increased Frequency of Chronic Weather Days

Investors in real estate face the risks of the extreme weather events, which can impact property values and the long-term viability of investments, but also chronic weather such as extreme heat. Understanding these risks can help property investors make more informed decisions and implement strategies to mitigate potential losses.

We analyzed a global sample of more than 50,000 property assets using the six new physical climate hazards in the MSCI Climate Value-at-Risk Model to estimate how many additional extreme weather days are expected across global metro areas by 2050. We used a 3°C global warming scenario.
