After a string of record-breaking quarters for Australian commercial real estate, mounting economic pressures appear to be weighing heavy on investors resulting in a slowdown in transaction volumes. The industrial sector had two consecutive record years in 2020 and 2021; however, it is the leading cause of the volume slowdown so far this year. The retail and office sectors have held up in terms of volumes, but the number of individual deals is well down on last year.
